The public website does not offer visitor registration or customer accounts. AliveMonitor product accounts are managed separately through app.alivemonitor.com.
Media uploads
Visitors cannot upload media files to the public website. Images and other website content are uploaded only by authorized website administrators.
3. Why we use personal data
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the public website.
- To maintain the website’s security and availability.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent errors, fraud, spam, and abuse.
- To respond to messages and enquiries.
- To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Legal bases for processing
Depending on the circumstances, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the website; preventing abuse; and responding to ordinary enquiries.
- Steps requested before entering into a contract: responding to product, pricing, partnership, or commercial enquiries.
- Legal obligations: retaining or disclosing information when required by applicable law.
- Consent: where we specifically request consent, including before using optional cookies or similar technologies if they are introduced in the future.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
5. Cookies
AliveMonitor uses cookies and similar technologies on the public website at www.alivemonitor.com and the application at app.alivemonitor.com.
Technically necessary cookies
WordPress and the AliveMonitor application may use cookies that are necessary for security, authentication, session management, user preferences, and the correct operation of the service.
WordPress may use the following cookies for authorized administrators:
- A temporary cookie to determine whether the browser accepts cookies.
- Login and security cookies when an administrator signs in.
- Cookies that remember administrative display preferences.
- A cookie identifying content recently edited or published.
The AliveMonitor application may use necessary cookies to keep users signed in, protect accounts, prevent fraud, maintain sessions, and remember security or interface preferences.
These cookies do not require consent where they are strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user.
Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors and users interact with the AliveMonitor website and application.
Google Analytics helps us measure information such as:
- Pages and application screens viewed.
- Buttons, links, and features used.
- Session duration and navigation paths.
- Referring websites and campaign information.
- Browser, device type, operating system, and language.
- Approximate geographic location.
- Application performance and technical events.
- Whether a visitor is new or returning.
Google Analytics uses IP addresses during collection to determine approximate geographic information and route data to an appropriate processing location. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store visitors’ IP addresses.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, monitoring targets, alert contents, payment information, or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.
Where analytics is configured across www.alivemonitor.com and app.alivemonitor.com, analytics identifiers may be used, after consent, to understand how a visitor moves between the public website and the application.
We use Google Analytics for audience measurement, service improvement, and understanding product usage. We do not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising or remarketing unless this policy and our consent controls are updated accordingly.
Google Analytics cookies
Google Analytics may set the following first-party cookies after analytics consent has been granted:
_ga— used to distinguish visitors. It may remain on the device for up to two years._ga_<measurement-id>— used to maintain session information. It may remain on the device for up to two years.
Cookie expiration may be renewed when the user returns and analytics consent remains active.
Our consent-management system may also store a technically necessary preference recording whether analytics cookies were accepted or rejected. This allows the website and application to respect the user’s selection on subsequent visits.
Legal basis and consent
The legal basis for Google Analytics processing is your consent.
Google Analytics cookies are not placed until you accept analytics cookies through our consent controls. Refusing analytics cookies does not prevent access to the public website or the core functionality of the AliveMonitor application.
You may accept, reject, or withdraw consent at any time using the cookie settings available on the website or application. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
You can also delete existing cookies through your browser settings. Deleting cookies may cause the consent banner to appear again.
Analytics data retention
User-level and event-level information held in our Google Analytics properties is retained for up to 14 months and is then automatically deleted in accordance with our configured retention settings.
Aggregated statistics that no longer directly relate to an identifiable user may be retained for longer for reporting, security, and service-improvement purposes.
Google’s processing of data
Google processes analytics information on our behalf in accordance with the applicable Google Analytics terms and data-processing conditions. Google may process information in countries outside Spain or the European Economic Area using applicable legal transfer mechanisms and safeguards.
More information is available from Google:

If an article includes embedded content from another website—such as a video, image, map, or social-media post—that third party may receive technical information, use cookies, or record your interaction with the embedded content.
We will review embedded services before adding them and, where required, prevent non-essential third-party content from loading until consent has been obtained.

8. International data transfers
AliveMonitor hosts and operates its own services within the European Union and does not directly transfer personal data outside the European Union or European Economic Area for its own operational purposes.
Some third-party service providers, including Google Analytics, may process or access limited information from locations outside the European Union or European Economic Area as part of providing their services.
Where this occurs, we require the provider to apply an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and data-protection safeguards. Depending on the destination and provider, these may include:
- An adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission.
- The European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards.
- Another transfer mechanism permitted under applicable data-protection law.
These providers are responsible for processing information in accordance with their contractual obligations, privacy policies, and applicable regulations. AliveMonitor reviews the data-protection terms of the providers it uses and limits the information shared with them to what is necessary for the relevant service.
For information about how Google handles international data transfers, please see the Google Privacy Policy and Google data-transfer frameworks.
You may contact hello@alivemonitor.com for additional information about the safeguards applicable to personal data processed through our service providers.
9. How long we retain personal data

You may also contact the data-protection authority in the EU or EEA country where you live or work.
12. Automated decision-making
The public website does not use personal data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
